Community guidelines
How members treat each other on Calaf Doon — and after connecting somewhere else.
This is a working draft, not legal advice
It describes accurately what the platform actually does today, so it is a useful starting point. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and it is not tailored to the laws of any particular country. Have it reviewed before Calaf Doon launches publicly.
Why these exist
Everyone on Calaf Doon is here to find somebody to marry. These guidelines keep it a place where people can do that with dignity. They apply on Calaf Doon and to how you treat someone you met here after you connect elsewhere.
Be who you are
- Use your real name, your real age, and photos of yourself only.
- Be honest about your marital status, children, and what you are looking for.
- One account per person. Do not create an account for someone else or let someone use yours.
- Do not pretend to be another person, a public figure, or an organisation.
Respect and haya
- Speak to others as you would want your own family spoken to.
- Keep photos, posts and words modest. No nudity, sexual content, or suggestive material.
- No insults, threats, harassment, or pressure — including pressure to move to another app before someone is ready.
- No hate or mockery based on tribe, clan, nationality, race, or how someone practises.
Money and scams
- Never ask another member for money, gifts, loans, or help with fees — for any reason.
- Never send money to someone you met here, whatever the story.
- No selling, advertising, recruiting, or promoting other services.
Privacy
- Do not share another member's photos, messages, number or details without their permission.
- Do not post screenshots to shame or expose anyone.
- Only share your own WhatsApp, Telegram or Instagram when you are ready. On Calaf Doon it is shown only after both of you agree to connect.
Thoughts
- Share reflections, reminders and experiences. Keep it kind and on topic.
- No spam, no repeated posts, no links to adverts.
- Disagree with the idea, never attack the person.
Safety
- You must be 18 or older. Anything involving a minor is removed immediately and reported where the law requires.
- Involve your wali and your family. Take your time before sharing your number or meeting.
- If you meet, meet in a public place and tell someone you trust.
Reporting
If someone breaks these guidelines — on Calaf Doon or after you connected on another app — report them from their profile or from the connection. You can say it happened outside Calaf Doon and attach a screenshot. A person reads every report, and the member is never told who reported them. You can also block them at any time.
What happens if they are broken
Depending on how serious it is, a moderator may remove content, reject a photo, refuse or withdraw verification, suspend an account, or remove it permanently. Scams, threats and anything involving a minor are removed immediately.
